The man who spotted the plant on sale at a vegetable stall at a local market in China’s eastern Shandong province, said that it appeared to have just been pulled out of the ground.
The man, named Fan was so astounded by it, he ended up spending 600 yuan to buy it, which is around $60. He now has lots of visitors to his home on a regular basis to see the roots.
The Chinese use the fleece flower plant in their traditional medicine for kidney health, strong bones and hair restoration, and as a mild laxative. It is also used for its ability to reduce cholesterol and fight heart disease. The root itself is often sold as a solution to obesity.

@Jew, Yeah, it’s SOO fake coz poor Chinese peasants have nothing better to do with their few yuan they make a day than to go and concoct a story and get some tech-heads to mould up a human looking sculpture and then get a Hollywood special effects type person to make it look like a root!!! GOOD ONE MATE!
Nice critical thinking, NOT jew. These photos were lifted from another article about a chinese farmer who grows these roots using molds to coerce them into that shape. In addition, this is old news. Also in addition, why would you assume that the author was not misled by some other source, or the possibility that the story was concocted at the source?
