The move also underscores new CNN Worldwide president Jeff Zucker‘s desire to diversify news on the network, moving beyond politics and the same handful of stories that get repeated on all the cable channels.

“We’re just thrilled that a sports journalist of Rachel’s stature and expertise will now be a regular part of the CNN lineup,” said Zucker in a statement. “Her arrival, beginning next week, is an important step in expanding the range of programming and storytelling on CNN.”

Roger Staubach and Terry Bradshaw Center Stage One More Time

Boy did that ever bring back memories of greatness, the two men who to me defined the two greatest franchises for ever. One of the men leading the way in helping the Steelers be the winningest Super Bowl franchise in NFL history and the other being one of the main reasons that the Dallas Cowboys are known today as America’s team.

Think about it for a second, do you really think that yesterday’s Super Bowl would have been played in this 1.6 billion dollars Mecca if Roger Staubach hadn’t come along to make plays like the “Hail Mary”. I say no way Jose. It was great to see these two real Legends together again, smiling and respecting while still having that competitive look in their eyes.

This capped off a great day of NFL quarterback history. Seeing Bart Star, Terry Bradshaw, Roger Staubach and now the soon to be known as “The Great” Aaron Rodgers was a treat for sure for any long time NFL fan.

Say what you want but the history of this game is a great one and the people who have made it great need to be honored and then honored again and again.

Oh and Roger, it was once again a perfect handoff….

Christina Aguilera Super Bowl Lyric Malfunction

Maybe it’s time for the NFL to go to local talent American Idol type people to perform during big events like this. I think those people would really put their heart and soul into the performances and if they would make a mistake then we could chalk it up to inexperience.

Isn’t time that the NFL starts encouraging unknown talent, this is the biggest stage of the year in America, and possibly the chance to find that gem in the ruff. Most of us are tired of these big starts trying to promote themselves instead of just trying to do the job that they are being paid to do or volunteered to do. I mean was slash even aware that he was on stage yesterday….what a joke.

Outside of the game itself people tune in to hear the National Anthem and to honor America. Now all we can say is how another of these young punk stars butcher the National Anthem and I for one am fed up about it. Come NFL show us you are the leader that you say you are and a stick to your product which is football and let Hollywood stick to theirs.

GoDaddy’s well-publicized Super Bowl XLV ad, which we already knew was going to be pushing the .co domain, as well as introducing a new “GoDaddy.co” girl has been aired, and the new girl is probably not the one you were expecting.

After all, domain registrar GoDaddy’s top “girl” is Indy Car racer Danica Patrick, and her co-host in the ad was fellow GoDaddy girl Jillian Michaels. Who was the new GoDaddy.co girl? As described by attributes shown in the earlier part of the ad, it was a hot Hollywood icon.

We’re pretty sure we heard a million horny husbands cry out in terror when they revealed the new GoDaddy.CO girl. The most awful thing about this is how amazing her body looks and how impossible it is to justify that with the state of her face after all these years and all those surgeries

We all new it was going to be a Hollywood Icon but the final choice was a shock to most men in America. Not sure where Godaddy is going with this but they did manage to get us interested. again and more importantly talking about Godaddy which I’m sure was the point of paying 3 millions per 30 second spot.

Dallas Cowboys Stadium Falling Ice Injures Six

NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said “The ice and snow melting off of the Cowboys Stadium roof has caused several sliding snow falls onto the plaza.”

A winter storm warning was issued Friday by the National Weather Service for Arlington. The next game due in the stadium will be this weekend between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Green Bay Packers.

How much do Super Bowl ads cost, Three million dollars. That’s the estimated cost for putting a 30-second ad on TV for this Sunday’s Super Bowl XLV. In the last decade companies have put down more than $1.6 billion for a spot during the big game. Is the investment worth it? Advertisers like Career Builder say it is.

This year social networking will also be a big player. Many companies are using facebook and twitter to create interest in their ads. Others are using YouTube to help stretch the millions of dollars spent beyond the game.

Cowboys Stadium replaced the partially-covered Texas Stadium, which opened in 1971, and served as the Cowboys’ home through the 2008 season. It was completed on May 27, 2009. Deanthony Thomas Chooses to Become a Duck

The five-star recruit announced Wednesday night at Crenshaw that he had decided to sign a letter of intent with the Ducks.

Thomas gave a soft verbal commitment to USC last year before the Trojans were hit with NCAA sanctions that resulted in a two-year postseason ban. Then reports surfaced that he had recently visited Eugene.

At 5-foot-9 and 160 pounds, Thomas is smart, fast and elusive. He rushed for 1,299 yards and 18 touchdowns and had five interceptions, leading the Cougars to their second straight City Section title last season.

The consensus is that Thomas will be a cornerback in college.

Thomas, ranked No. 16 in the ESPNU 150, is one of the most decorated prep players ever to come from Los Angeles. He had been considered one of the jewels of USC’s class.

He had been committed to USC since last spring and only recently seemed to be wavering. Over the weekend, he took an official visit to Oregon and reports immediately began trickling out of Eugene that one of the top playmakers in the country might flip.

Thomas, known locally as “The Black Mamba,” rushed for 1,306 yards, caught 16 passes for 349 yards and scored 27 touchdowns as a senior. He was the Los Angeles City Section Player of the Year as Crenshaw won its second straight title.

Wrigley Field Baseball Park

A panel of the Wrigley Field roof, directly above the press box, suffered damage due to the high winds at the start of the storm, causing part of the panel to brake away.

According to local police, streets from Addison Street between Sheffield Avenue and Racine Street and also on Clark Street between Addison Street and Waveland Avenue were closed off for a while to traffic, due to the debris blowing around in the high winds.

There have also been reports of tiles coming away from the roof as well. High winds at the moment are preventing maintenance crews from being able to repair any damage. However, crews from the city’s building department and keeping a close eye on the situation.
