TMZ, on Jan. 24, set the record straight amid rumors that Shaggy died. However, the rapper is not dead and is merely next in “line” for pranksters spreading the usual hoax about a celebrity’s demise.

Shaggy, real name, Orville Richard Burrell, after 20-plus years in the business, remains a respected musical fixture.

The Jamaican-American first appeared on the music charts with his 1993 debut release of “Oh Carolina.” However, it was his “Boombastic” hit in 1995 that put him on the map.

In 2000, the gifted rapper followed up on his success with a 6x-certified “Hot Shot” album, which featured the hit singles, “Angel” and “It Wasn’t Me.”

Back in June of last year, Shaggy released a string of collaborations and formed his own record label called, Ranch Entertainment.

So there; Shaggy is not dead and is likely getting a boost in popularity from the latest celebrity death hoax.

Nichols was a workhouse at ESPN, contributing to “SportsCenter,” “NBA Countdown,” “Sunday NFL Countdown” and ESPN’s newsmagazine “E:60.” The new CNN program, which will debut “later this year” also opens up synergistic possibilities for Turner, which has invested heavily in sports programming under David Levy. The company has in the last few years secured NCAA basketball playoff games, and signed new long-term deals with the NBA and MLB.

The move also underscores new CNN Worldwide president Jeff Zucker‘s desire to diversify news on the network, moving beyond politics and the same handful of stories that get repeated on all the cable channels.

“We’re just thrilled that a sports journalist of Rachel’s stature and expertise will now be a regular part of the CNN lineup,” said Zucker in a statement. “Her arrival, beginning next week, is an important step in expanding the range of programming and storytelling on CNN.”

So high has been the demand for the Wii U Deluxe, it has more or less sold out just about everywhere. Even the basic model is pretty difficult to get a hold of right now.

Wii U preorder’s had completely sold out prior to launch, so it was always going to be difficult to grab one. GameStop had 1.2 million preorder’s on their books, with a waiting list in excess of 500,000.

No need to get in a panic though, if you are looking to get a hold of one before Christmas, there is still 5 weeks to go and chances are more stocks will be in stores pretty soon. Definitely worth while waiting for a couple of weeks yet, before paying triple the price or more to some person who is willing to sell theirs.

It would seem that Philip often gets away with saying things that some of us would like to say. He may open his mouth and say what many of us only dare think. For the best part though, it is usually all good fun.

Whatever way you look at it he is a true master of one-liners and perhaps my favorite one of all happened when he was on walkabout in Kent, when he noticed an old lady in a wheelchair. She was wrapped in a foil blanket to keep out the cold. He walked up to her and said “Are they going to put you in the oven next?”

Charlie Sheen Ready To Get Back To Work

During an interview on “The Dan Patrick Show,” sheen commented on the fact that he was ready to get back to work, but those in charge of everything were not. He said “”They said, `You get ready and we’ll get ready.’ And I got ready and went back and nobody’s there,” he said. “I’m here and I’m ready. They’re not. Bring it, you know?”

Sheen was asked if he knew when shooting for the series would actually get started again and he commented that he believed it would be in “August of 2014 at this pace.” Joking around as Sheen does, he went on to say “I don’t know, it’s supposed to be like the 28th or the 29th. That’s what it is! It’s the 29th in a non-leap year.”

Charlie Sheen is one of the highest paid actors on prime time TV. At the end of the last season of Two and a Half Men, he signed a new contract for two years.

Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Nipsey Russell, and Ted Ross (reprising his Tony-winning role as the Lion) star in this Academy Award-nominated musical for the whole family. The Wiz is probably the grandest take on L. Frank Baum’s classic tale The Wizard of Oz.

The production team created sets with a sense of urban magic and spectacle: a New York subway station literally comes to life, and the massive plaza between the World Trade Center towers is transformed into the Emerald City, featuring nearly 400 dancers with three costume changes.

Like all good musicals, the Quincy Jones arrangements are highly hummable long after viewing (especially the funky “Ease On Down the Road” and the inspirational “Brand New Day”). In an era before MTV, the camera stays nearly stationary as Ross and Lena Horne vocally soar through their numbers.

Their stage-like performances successfully make the leap to film, making The Wiz a testament to their singing talents and star presence. The then-thirtysomething Ross raised some eyebrows playing the traditionally teenaged Dorothy, but she and her supporting cast (including Richard Pryor as the Wiz) carry the tunes with an infectious verve that will appeal to folks of all ages.

Further below you can view the video, where Justin Bieber is on Jimmy Kimmel Live and appears to be having his head shaved. It all looks pretty realistic to many, but take a close look at his apparently bald head. Look just above his right ear and you will see some tell tale crease lines. Yes, it is just a clever piece of studio makeup.

While it is all pretty realistic and there are suggestions in the show that perhaps fans should follow suit by getting their heads shaved as well, we can only hope that fans have had enough common sense to see that this was all just a joke.

Still, I wonder if we are going to see a few bald headed female fans over the next few days, who took things a bit too seriously. After all the net is buzzing today with lots of people trying to find out if he really did shave his head. Phrases such as “justin bieber shaved head 2011″, “justin bieber bald”, “justin bieber haircut”, “justin bieber shaved head” and “did justin bieber cut his hair” are all being heavily searched on Google today. Let’s hope all fans get the message that it was not real, before they start shaving their heads.

Just Go With It Review

Both actors have plenty of sheer likability and honest ease, as well as sparks in just the right places, which helps propel Just Go with It to its satisfying (if a bit predictable) conclusion. (Hollywood execs: Consider an update of Moonlighting starring these two.) If the premise, loosely based on the Goldie Hawn film Cactus Flower, stretches reality, the capability of the whole cast makes Just Go with It an enjoyable ride.

Sandler plays Danny, a surgeon who falls for a much-younger bombshell, Palmer (swimsuit model Brooklyn Decker, a surprisingly natural actress). But when Palmer finds the fake wedding band that commitment-phobe Danny has used for his no-strings-attached previous relationships, the web of fibs begins. Danny asks his assistant, Katherine (Aniston), to pretend to be his soon-to-be-ex-wife, and Aniston plays it to the hilt. But soon Danny’s wobbly house of cards includes Katherine’s children–and, in the ultimate romantic-comedy trope, a group trip to Hawaii to work things out.

The cast really is stellar, including very small supporting roles by Nicole Kidman and singer Dave Matthews, as an insufferable couple disliked intensely by Katherine. (Of course they end up in Hawaii with the gang, too.) Minka Kelly, Kevin Nealon, and Rachel Dratch also make memorable cameos. But it’s Sandler and Aniston, along with the snappy direction by Dennis Dugan (Happy Gilmore, Big Daddy), who make Just Go with It one of the more romantic–and funny–romantic comedies in recent memory. Our advice: Sit back, and just go with it.

Cedar Rapids Movie Review

This sort of fish-out-of-water comedy could have been a flimsy excuse for broad slapstick and absurd high jinks; instead, in the confident hands of director Miguel Arteta (The Good Girl, Chuck & Buck), Cedar Rapids becomes something more humane and, in a quiet way, more ambitious.

Helms manages to make Tim genuine, a man-child but not a cartoon; the movie’s situations skirt wackiness, yet always remain in the realm of something emotionally real. (The movie also reflects the influence of producers Alexander Payne and Jim Taylor, who created the similarly character-rich movies Sideways, Almost Schmidt, and Election.)

The whole cast hits the right notes, from such familiar faces as John C. Reilly (Magnolia, Talladega Nights), Anne Heche, and Sigourney Weaver to such stealthy character actors as Stephen Root (NewsRadio), Rob Corddry (Hot Tub Time Machine), Isiah Whitlock Jr. (The Wire), and Alia Shawkat (Arrested Development).

Cedar Rapids is sweet without being cloying, funny without being manic, and even a little sad at times, without ever turning up the violins on the soundtrack. It’s an honest movie, and there are all too few of them out there.

Lindsay Lohan

Lohan is alleged to have stolen a necklace with a value of around $2,500 from a jewelry store in California. While she may well have given the appearance that she is not concerned about the accusations she faces, her DUI probation should be cause for concern.

Even if she is found not guilty for grand theft, the judge could well consider the fact that Lohan seems to be having continual brushes with the law and decide that she has violated the terms of her probation.

While many believe that she will not be found guilty of grand theft charges, if she is, she would be looking at 16 to 24 months on a midterm sentence, or as much as three years in jail on the high term.

Los Angeles Criminal Defense Attorney, R.J Manuelian said “Realistically, I think if she is found guilty, she will get 60 to 120 days in a county jail, along with 30 days community service or house arrest.”

According to several reports, her lawyer is likely to present the case that the item of jewelry was given to her and that there had been miscommunication about its return.
